About Us

“In questions of power then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.”

Thomas Jefferson

In our society, we are constantly bombarded with information through various forms of media, such as text messages, commercials, and sound bites. However, despite the abundance of information, there seems to be very little knowledge. If you were to ask someone about basic facts related to the government or the economy, you are likely to receive a blank stare or an “I don’t know” response.

Although these types of questions may sound hard, scary, or boring, understanding the answers to them is crucial for understanding how various issues affect our lives. For example, knowing about the form of government we have, the role of the U.S. Constitution, and the political relationship between the Federal and State Governments, can help us make informed decisions on the candidates we elect and the legislation that is passed.

However, politics in our society has become more like a sport, with people supporting their “team” of Democrats or Republicans without necessarily understanding the issues at stake. This approach is problematic because it discourages knowledge-seeking and political discussions beyond partisan talking points.

That’s why “Wake Up And Smell The Freedom” was created – to encourage people to view politics from a Constitutional standpoint and to focus on Liberty rather than partisan politics. Consider starting a discussion group in your area to create a friendly and laid-back environment where people can openly ask questions and discuss topics related to politics and the economy. You may be surprised to find that many of the answers to these questions are not as difficult as they may seem. Join us in the journey towards liberty and knowledge, and perhaps make some great friends along the way.
